Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a combinition of taking therapy and hypnosis. It is also known as Brief therapy. And as the name suggests; it is all about supporting you on your journery to recognise and look for positives in your life. I will support you to create new positive habits and you will find your own solutions to problems and at any time I will never dig into your past otherthan initial consultation where we will talk about what you would like to achieve from Hypnotherapy.
Trance / Hypnosis is a natural state of mind. It is also described it as a day dreaming or zoning out state.
We all go into trance several times in a day without realising it for instance when you are reading a book and you suddenly get lost into it, while watching TV or driving on a regular route where you cant actually remember the journey.
You can imagine hypnosis is a state where your conscious and subconscious mind focuses into one and you then look into make that positive changes you want and you are in control of your mind at all times. During hypnosis I will use repetition, suggestions and metaphors to encourage your subconscious mind to think and act in a positive way and look for problem solving solutions. The therapist cannot control your mind and cannot make you do something against your wishes nor you would be stuck in hypnosis - this is very different to stage hypnosis as you might have seen it on TV.
In simple words; hypnosis is described as an act that guides an individual into the state of trance. On the other hand hypnotherapy is a combination of talking therapy and trance.
If you snore during hypnosis, it tells me that you are very relaxed and I can still talk to your subconscious mind and it is very rare that someone would speak during hypnosis; as your mind is busy processing the information that I am giving you but if you do; you dont need to worry as it would all be confidential with me.
Initial Consultation lasts from 40 minutes upto an hour
Full Hypnotherapy session takes upto an hour
Vaping / Smoking Cessation would take from 90 minutes upto 2 hours
The number of sessions required varies from person to person. General therapy sessions you would need between 8 - 12 sessions after the initial consultation but sometimes more.
Smoking / Vaping cessation is only 1 longer session - you don't need a separate initial consultation for it.
Specific Fears & Phobias take upto 3 sessions after the initial consultation but, the approach for a Fears & Phobias will be determined and agreed after the initial consultation.
It is not possible to provide a comprehensive list of conditions that hypnotherapy can help with for a simple reason that the symptoms have been made worse by added on anxiety and stress. Success is not guaranteed by the therapist. No therapist can ever guarantee success. Success depends on your commitment to therapy. In my training; I am held to a high standard and I have been working successfully with a variety of clients with various conditions and have been approved by my supervisor as been having achieved the required level and standard to be able to charge for my time and services. You can always choose the number of sessions you want to have and each week we can review your progress together.
Being epileptic should not stop someone from taking Hypnotherapy sessions.
Hypnosis does not trigger epileptic fits. Relaxation induced by hypnosis may also well help to reduce its frequency.
Recording any sessions is strictly prohibited as this would violate the privacy laws.
No, you don't need to talk about any unpleasant or any traumatic past events of your life.
